What we collect when you browse
A first-party cookie containing a random identifier, so a listing can count you as one visitor rather than five. It contains no personal information and is never shared with a third party. We also record the page you viewed, the day, and a salted hash of your IP address — the hash exists to catch abuse, and because it is salted we cannot reverse it back to an address.
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising pixels, or cross-site trackers. No map anywhere on this site loads until you click it — not the single location on a profile, and not the one beside a city ranking — precisely so that no third-party request is made unless you ask for one. If you press “use my location” on a map, your browser asks you first, and the position is used in that page to work out distances and never sent to us.
What we collect when you send an estimate request
Your name, email, phone number, ZIP code, what treatment you need, your insurer if you tell us, and anything you write in the message box. This goes to the practices you are matched with and to nobody else.
We do not sell it. We do not license it. We do not use it to build an advertising profile. We do not add you to a marketing list unless you separately ask to be added.
Health information
Anything you type into a message box about your own health is stored so it can be forwarded to the practice. Please do not send diagnoses, images or records through this form — send those to the practice directly once you have chosen one. We are a directory, not a covered entity, and this form is not the right channel for a medical record.
Retention and deletion
Analytics events are kept for twenty-five months and then deleted. Estimate requests are kept for twenty-four months so a practice can answer a returning patient, then deleted.
You can ask us to delete everything associated with you at any time by emailing care@10dentistsnearme.com. We do not require you to prove an account exists, because you never had to make one.
Your rights
If you are in California, the CCPA gives you the right to know what we hold, to have it deleted, and to opt out of sale — the last of which is moot, because we do not sell it. If you are in the EU or UK, the GDPR gives you access, rectification, erasure and portability rights. Either way the same email address handles the request.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will say so on this page with the date, rather than quietly editing it. Last updated: August 2026.
